Hi Guys,
As your newly appointed 2nd XI captain, I thought that I should start a thread that will let you all know any news with regards to the team.

I would firstly like to say that the 2nd XI is the name given to the team as per every other cricket club that I know of when they have more than one team representing their club on the same day.
Although the team is called the 2nd XI, where ever possible the two teams will be evenly split to take into account the opposition we as a club are playing on any particular day. This is to ensure that we give as best account of ourselves as a club and also respect the strength of the opposition.

I would also like to use this first post to congratulate Mark on becoming club captain and all of the committee members voted in at the AGM.

I look forward to captaining a team that involves as many of you as possible during what I think is going to be a great season in the growth of Beeding & Bramber Cricket Club.

Cheers,
Eddie

Well done, Eddie.  I expect that I will be playing for the Second Eleven next season.  The only reason for this belief is that the Club does not have a Third Eleven!

As the last 2nd XI game has been played, I would like to say how enjoyable it has been skippering the side this season.
Thankyou to all that have played for me and I hope that you have all enjoyed it aswell.
We won some, drew some and lost some, but whatever the result, the games were played in the right spirit with smiles on our faces and some worn out caps due to throwing them down in disgust;)

I will be standing for 2nd XI captain again next season and look forward to leading the side if voted back in.

Next season there will be 2 games every week on Sundays,so there will be plenty of opportunity for everyone to play as much cricket as possible.

Thanks once again and see you at ICL.

Thanks, Eddie.  You have done a very good job skippering the 2nd eleven this year.  Yesterday's game was a good example, played in the right spirit with a very exciting finish.

Been great playing for you this year mate. Hope you stick your hand up again next year, you'll have my support without doubt.

EDIT - Shouldn't say that, probably just cost you at least two votes.:rofl:rofl
