Gents

I have been invited to a sit down with the Mellor guys and some of the other teams from this years finals day to discuss next years tournament and what format it should take.

If anyone has any CONSTRUCTIVE points please add them below.

Thanks

If they want more teams, this may help:-

I think it would be great if we could make sure we had a few positives to bring to the table, mention some things that we thought they did very well and say that we hope those items wont change.

We could also hint that we won't have such a strong side next year ;-)

I think there were comments about the price of food there. What did people think of the catering?

I would say that the food was very good, although a little expensive. They did have rather a lot of staff for the serving/kitchen so probably had to pay for that.

I think that it was a good day, It would be nice to get a bye to the finals day;) if a few more teams had to qualify. That could be the only problem with many teams entering 2012 Comp as a qualifying round or 2 would be needed.

Pass. But then again, Steyning Rebels, Washington and Hurstpierpoint aren't either. Probably some others too. Sourced in Chichester, probably no longer maintained.

I came across this report of our semi-final on the  Ashling CC website.

Our opposition obviously did not appreciate us "arriving in a coach" ....for our grand day out .......or the "expensive Kit"   ????  ........you were all wearing.

So perhaps a word of explanation on why the club took that approach may help to sweeten their sour grapes for next year  !!

Losing in a semi-final is disappointing but I think a little more credit could have been given to the winners.

The cheek. The expensive kit or t shirts we wore to support a charity we must be a real bad club.
Points I will address at the meeting. As for the food we were only told a few weeks before and we had already decided on the coach as a one off treat. Maybe they think we do this every week.
Sour grapes here.

A perfect example of sour grapes if you ask me.:smack

I thought it was nice of them to capitulate so easily and then stay for the rest of the tournament;)

yeh I know.........

It's difficult to believe that the report relates to the same day I thoroughly enjoyed at Arundel Castle, ........regardless of whether we won or not......we had a good time.........winning was just the icing on the cake, it doesn't always happen, but it's special when it does.

Hopefully, it's just a rogue reporter's view of the day rather than Ashling Cricket Club's view of events.....

Anyway history is often written by the winners !

Posting 7. Thanks Russ.

Alerted a bit earlier today to this "Toys out of the Pram" jobbie but GS'ing..

1st 5 lines were the Classic Whinge.

They fancied themselves and came up SHORT.

Fact.

The R.O. was under Neutral Umping. Tough Titty.

They even got Our Title Nomenclature, WRONG.

Clearly, they did not READ the Programme. That is POOR.

Their report scores 2/10 in my book.

Guten Arben mein liebscheins

I actually felt sorry for them after we'd stuffed them.  I don't anymore, they got excatly what they deserved and showed their true appreciation for the spirit of the event when the left by the back door with their tails between their legs before the second game was over. Whoever wrote the report is doing his club no favours whatsoever.

C and H different class.

BTW the date's wrong as well on the Ashling report.
